If you’ve followed Mbit Guitars for any length of time, you know we have a very specific focus: high-end, hand-crafted guitars. However, every so often, an instrument comes along that is so exceptional it forces us to break our own rules.

The Corsell Ventura is that instrument.

Why the Exception?

We partnered with our friends at Corsell to bring this Ventura into the fold because the level of detail is simply insane. This isn’t a mass-produced bass; it is a masterclass in materials and boutique lutherie. This specific instrument was hand-selected to represent the brand on the Boutique Guitars Showcase Tour, traveling the USA late last year as a premier example of modern craftsmanship.

The Build

The Ventura is built on a foundation of 40-year dried Genuine Mahogany. It features a semi-hollow construction with a one-piece chambered back, finished in a mesmerizing Aquamarine Dust gloss on the top and a fast, organic-feeling satin on the back and neck.

The appointments are where this build truly shines:

  • Brazilian Tulipwood: Used for both the fretboard and the matching headstock plate, providing a unique grain and a high-end feel.

  • Retroframe Inlays: Hand-crafted from Aluminum and Real Abalone, these catch the light in a way that photos simply can't capture.

  • 32” Scale: This medium-scale length is the "sweet spot" for many players, offering a punchy, fundamental-rich tone and a physical comfort that is much easier to navigate than a traditional long-scale.

Tone & Hardware

Powered by a set of Corsell Quarter Classic pickups, the Ventura is passive, simple, and massive. It’s equipped with top-tier hardware, including a HipShot MassKicker bridge and Kluson Vintage tuners, ensuring rock-solid stability.

Condition & Provenance

Despite being a veteran of a national tour, this bass has been meticulously cared for. It remains in excellent condition. It includes its original Custom Brown Tweed Hardcase, which is in very good shape with minimal wear from its travels across the country.
