PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Kloppmann Dummycoil (DC) offers an effective solution for reducing the inherent hum and interference commonly associated with single-coil pickups in Stratocaster guitars. Developed with input from acclaimed guitarist Thomas Blug, this device aims to improve your guitar's signal clarity, especially in environments prone to electrical noise.

How It Works: The DC operates by detecting the same interference frequencies as your Stratocaster pickup. It then combines this hum signal in an inverse phase with your pickup's audio signal. This process effectively cancels out the hum, resulting in a cleaner output from your guitar. The design prioritizes noise reduction while aiming to preserve your pickup's core tonal characteristics.

Key Benefits & Features:

  • Hum Reduction: Significantly reduces 50/60Hz hum, allowing your Stratocaster's natural tone to be heard more clearly.
  • Improved Signal Stability: Contributes to a more stable and quieter signal, which can be particularly noticeable when using higher gain settings.
  • Thomas Blug's Input: Developed with practical insights from Thomas Blug, who also utilizes the DC for its noise reduction.
  • Flexible Integration: The DC can be integrated into your Stratocaster's wiring in various configurations to suit your existing setup:
    • BLUG Wiring: Ideal for reverse wound, reverse polarity (RwrP) pickup sets, making intermediate positions hum-free.
    • Straight Wiring: Suitable for standard pickup sets, allowing you to maintain your existing tone switching levels without hum.

The Kloppmann Dummycoil offers a practical way to manage hum in your Stratocaster, allowing you to focus on your playing without unwanted noise distractions.

Made-to-Order: Anything Kloppmann Makes

Kloppmann builds to order in Germany, and I can order any product or configuration from their range: any model, cover, magnet or aging option, including ones you don't see on this site. A few sets are in stock and ship now. Everything else is made for you.

If you find something on Kloppmann's website that isn't listed here, send me the name or the link and I order it the same way.

HOW TO ORDER

  1. Email custom-order@mbitguitars.com with the model and the options you want: cover, magnet, aging, anything else.
  2. I confirm the details and current build timing with Andreas, then send you a draft order with the exact amount for a 50% deposit.
  3. Kloppmann builds your pickups, I handle the import, and the balance is due before they ship to you.

WHAT IT COSTS
Take the price listed on Kloppmann's website in EUR and convert it to US dollars. That is what I charge. If a set is listed at EUR 400, you pay EUR 400 in dollars at that day's exchange rate. I currently don't add anything for customs, duties or US shipping. I cover those.

The draft order shows the exact amount before you pay the deposit. Normally it is simply the converted price. If something outside my control changes it, like a new tariff, I tell you before you commit to anything.

ABOUT TIMING
It depends on Andreas's bench, so I confirm the window for each order instead of quoting a fixed lead time. It may take a little longer than ordering direct, but the import and the paperwork are mine to deal with.

Not Sure What's Right for Your Guitar?

Specs and model names only tell you so much about how something will sound or fit in your guitar. If you're choosing pickups, my Pickup Finder can help: answer five questions about your guitar, your playing style and the tone you're after, and it ranks the best matches across more than ten brands, Kloppmann included. It scores every brand on the same criteria, so it may point you to something I don't sell.

For anything else, like wiring kits, compatibility or a specific configuration, email me at contact@mbitguitars.com. Tell me about your guitar and what you're after, and I'll help you sort it out.
